Frames
C Henrot, M Jacotey and more
We have always been fascinated by frames as functional objects, serving the purpose of presentation by creating a border between an artwork and the wall. Recently this line has become thinner and more invisible under the modernist philosophy of letting a work speak for itself. However we think there is something lost in negating the conversation between a frame and an artwork. How can one change the context, value or objective of the other? We often make distortions of traditional furniture to typologies, not necessarily as a solo ironic gesture, but also to try to create something beautiful, functional, and valuable.
