





MDF and chipboard is the main material for furniture in the modern world. Flat stable and consistent for manufacturing however it is fundamentally an interior material when moisture ingresses it becomes swollen and de-laminated and deformed. We mask off areas and expose them to steam and moisture in order to swell up the fibers and soften the glue. Creating decorative embossed areas and motifs, the controlled blisters are reinforced with resin. The panels appear overlapping and misaligned but function perfectly with this seemingly careful but has haphazard construction.
