An exploration into creating paper with integrated LEDs and other electronics. Paper lantern making or light making is a traditional craft, here light source and the paper are melded together. A flat 2-D plane like a card or a poster becomes a graphic light source, imbuing both the beauty and delicacy of hand worked paper with the artificiality of coloured LEDs. The frame that holds these pieces is made from carbon fibre tube with a composite node. It has the language of corporate display stands or lightweight presentation structures. The paper is made through a process of soldering LEDs and fixing them to a base layer for fragments of Japanese paper are applied in sections embedding the LEDs within.
